I'm working full-time this summer in Ann Arbor again, but I should be free evenings and weekends if anyone wants to do something.

Hopefully, I will have enough free time around my full-time job and random OSRR web-site updates (side job) to get some stuff done over the summer. I hope to learn more about cooking, especially Japanese and Indian cooking, since I don't know much about those cuisines (I pretty much specialized in Italian while teaching myself to cook in the first place), and perhaps learn about baking. I also hope to further some of my other hobbies, doing some woodworking, astronomy, and photography while I am home. I don't have access to a darkroom around here, though, and can't afford to put one together (not that my parents want that much space in their house eaten up by my crap, anyway), so I might stick with digital snapshots for now, or buy a changing bag, tank, and chemicals to at least develop my negatives (and print them when I get back up to Houghton).

I also hope to fix up my car a bit (it needs some work, mostly "cosmetic", or at least that is what most people call repairing rust. I prefer to think of it as preventing my car from rusting so much it falls apart). There are quite a few paint chips on the hood that are starting to rust, and I want to tackle those before they become HOLES in the hood with rusty edges. Also, the headlight mechanisms are pretty rusty, so I want to pull them apart, sand them down, and spray them with black Rustoleum. It does have some mechanical issues, too. It could use a full tune-up, plugs, wires, and so on, a new valve cover gasket, and I need to pull off and clean out the EGR valve again. My serpentine belt is also pretty old, but it seems to be in good condition (no cracks, glazing, etc), so I will probably just buy a new one and toss it in the trunk with my spare bottles of oil, coolant, and washer solvent.

I love reading, but I have so many books piled up on my bookshelves that I don't know which one to start next. An offshoot of that is that I want to get into hand bookbinding (people tell me I'm crazy...) for some reason. Don't ask me, I just get interested in random things, putz around with them for a while, get bored, and find something else.
